Maple Glazed Walnuts
Updated: Aug 31, 2022
The glaze hardens, so serve these as is, use as salad toppings, or crush and add to a cookie recipe.

I made this lightly sweet snack before going to bed. The original intention was to use them in a salad recipe that I'll be posting later this week. There is going to have to be a second batch. The resulting goods are sugary with a hint of maple. Just as I intended. I just can't stop snacking on them. Naturally, I had to share something this good as a stand alone post.

This recipe take no prep time prep time, 25 minutes to cook, and yields 1 cup of glazed walnuts (Scroll down for the short version.)
Lets get started. The supplies needed are measuring cups, a medium size saucepan, baking sheet with parchment paper slotted spoon a wire whisk and a small container for storage. You will need the following ingredients; 1 cup water, 1 1/2 cup pure can sugar, 1 cup Walnuts

STEP 1 Pre heat oven to 350 degrees. On high heat add the water and pure cane sugar. Whisk to combine. Heat to a rolling boil.
STEP 2 When the mixture is bubbling and boiling add the pure maple syrup. Don't be afraid of a boiling pot, the bubbles help evaporate the water to create a thick mixture.

Step 3 When the bubbles get smaller and the surface of the mixture looks glassy, take a spoon, scoop some of the glaze out and set it on a spoon rest to cool about 1 min.

Step 5 Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool. Store in a tightly sealed container.
