We were at San Marco's 21st Annual Pet Fest.
Earlier this month that vegan Jew on Welfare hit the festival scene with a dizzying array of Vegan 101 offerings and Merch! Our Goal was to reach as many people as we could with educational vegan pamphlets. Initialy we hit some road blocks, but this was to be expected as we were their first vegan booth. In a state that loves thier BBQ like a religion. Ultimately everyone had a great time!
I am pictured here. I was so thrilled to be able to share with the public and issue I have been dedicated to for over half my life. When I was a teen I would always visit the PETA booth at Warped Tour (does that even exist anymore?). Now I am writing my own pamphlets and lending my own voice to the cause. Go me, right?
Of course, my best friend in all the world, Rant, was in attendance. We have been together since he was about 4 weeks old, after a neighbor found him abandoned in a box at a gas station. Pet Fest is something he gets excited for every year.
I could not have done this without my amazing friends and TVJOW volunteers, Linda (pictures) and Kim. Plus they rocked their volunteers only tee-shirts.
Lastly, and bestly, I appreciated everyone who stopped by the booth, took our free offerings, or had a conversation about veganism. We have a lot of Animals to save from a horrific existence. It takes an overwhelming army to enact change. Vegans are everyday heros. So are some times vegans. Every vegan product that you consume is one less animal exploited.

They run a spay and neuter service ( I got my dog ACE done for $20), pet food bank, vaccine clinic, and they place abandoned animals in loving home.
