Vegan BBQ Beef and Sesame Noodle Bowl with Steamed Bamboo shoots.

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

This is an easy, low cost way to make a tasty, healthy restaurant inspired dish for a weeknight dinner.

BBQ Beef Bowl featuring BBQ impossible, ramen with sweet seseme sauce, bamboo shoots, served with chopsticks
Full servings of veggies, protien and wheat

I love creating bowls. There was one time in my life that they were the only dish I would make. I made breakfast bowls, layered burrito bowls, and of course Asian fusion bowls. Yes I can buy some pretty great frozen bowls from the supermarket, but since I've started cooking my own food, I feel like the taste is not as good. Plus I have weird food allergies (is any one else allergic to sweet potato?) Making a homemade bowl allows me to be choosy when it comes to ingredients.

This recipe takes 5 min of prep time, about 25 minutes of cook time and serves 4.

The supplies needed are: measuring spoons and cups, medium sized sauce pan, saute pan, double boiler, large pot, strainer, and bowls and chopsticks. You will need the following ingredients: 1 Pack impossible ground burger, 2 packs ramen noodles (sauce packets removed), 1/2 cup Vegan friendly BBQ Sauce, 1/4 Cup Soy sauce, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tbs seseme oil, 1 can bamboo shoots, and seseme seeds for sprinkling.

Use my ingrediants or experiment with a mix of your own.
Bowls are a great way to experiment with mixing up whatever you can find in your pantry.

STEP 1 Follow the directions for cooking ramen printed on your products bag.

Pot pie gravy sauce with chopped tofu and can of veggies.
This recipe is EBT approved!

STEP 2 In a medium sized saucepan, whisk to combine water, pure cane sugar, and 1 tbs sesame oil. Bring to a boil and then simmer ten minutes. Sesame oil may cost a little bit more than one might pay for a flavoring, but it can be bought on EBT and I've had mine for over three years and its only halfway used up.

Ramen in Sauce
Follow the directions onyou rpackage of Raman. Remeber to leave out the sauce packet!

Step 3 When the Ramen is done, Strain and then pour the sweet sesame sauce into the pot. Stir to combine.

Step 4 Warm a sauce pan over medium high heat. In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and 1/4 Cup soy sauce. Pour this mixture of the Impossible ground beef as it is cooking

Bamboo shoots steaming in a double boiler.
A unique Vegetable to add.

Step 5 In a double boiler( get the cool Greenlife. Note. I have set my on fire many times.) Steam the bamboo shoots for 5 minutes.

A fully cooked pot pie.
All done!

Step 6 Arrange the ingredients in a bowl. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the noodles. Serve with Chopsticks. Just Eat!
